| The rents listed below represent normal low-season rates including taxes and after departure cleaning. Some homes have variable rates based on the number of occupants. | Property description: Charming and cozy two bedroom, two bath home on the hillside with a wonderful expansive view of the ocean. Downstairs bedroom has twin beds that can be coupled together to make a king size bed. Upstairs loft bedroom has a queen bed and an office nook. The office nook has a desk with wireless broadband internet access.
1 bathroom has bath tub the other has a stall shower. The living room features a nice fireplace and great window seats. There are two ocean view decks. Have a great time grilling outside with the gas BBQ. All wood interior. Kitchen is nicely appointed.
This home was designed by Phil Bradley and Winn Scott and built in 1973 by Helmut Emke of Custom Builders in Gualala. The house won a Sea Ranch Merit Design Award in 1974. The following is quoted from the text of the award, '...this small two-story house with the very steep, almost fairy-tale picture roof illustrates the breadth of expression possible when the essential qualities of honesty and simplicity, integral and deternmining factors, are fully respected, recognized and used in both the use of the site and the character and detail of the design concept. Careful consideration of the house indicates that the roof pitch...is the only variant from the otherwise Spartan character of its design. There is much charm in the way in which this steep roof follows the general contour of the hill site on which the house is situated.' This home has been remodeled and updated but retains the design and character that made Second Wind an award winner.
